With several Parish Council members stepping down at the upcoming Annual Vestry Meeting on February 23, the Parish Council's Nomination Committee is seeking volunteers for the following positions:
People's Warden (1)
Delegates to Synod (2)
Alternate Delegates to Synod (2)
Parish Council meets up to 10 times a year. The meetings have been online during the evening in 2024. With St. Dunstan's being an incorporated parish of the Diocese, Parish Council members are also legal trustees of the Parish Corporation as defined in our parish by-laws. According to the diocesan canons (churchy word for constitutions and by-laws),
The duties of the Parish Council shall be to assist the Trustees (if any), Priest in charge and the Church Wardens in the general business of the Parish and in all aspects of the ministry of the Parish.”
These are servant leadership positions in which no former experience is needed, just a heart to serve God's mission and a willingness to take counsel collaboratively.
With the biennial Diocesan Synod taking place this year between May 30 - 31, elected Delegates to Synod (and if they are not available to attend, their elected Alternate counterparts) should be prepared to attend Synod representing St. Dunstan's.
If you are interested to learn more about these opportunities, please contact Clarence, Janette (People's Warden), and Lesley (Rector's Warden).
