The Parish of St. Dunstan is thrilled to be working with a theological student from the Vancouver School of Theology this year. Lauren Kirkey will be assisting us with a podcast component to the ministry of the Centre for Spiritual Renewal. She will also continue her personal learning in spiritual practices by attending a number of the Centre events throughout the year.
We are so lucky to have Laren with us!
Here's a message from Lauren:
Hi there, My name is Lauren Kirkey. I am a student at Vancouver School of Theology. I am in 2nd year, working towards a Master’s of Divinity degree as a candidate for Ordination in The United Church of Canada. I had an opportunity to design a practicum based on whatever I wanted to learn that would assist in my future Ministry and I chose to focus on Prayer practices. As an extrovert, Enneagram-7, go-getter who thrives on ‘busy’, I know a regular prayer practice of grounding and connecting to our Divine Source will be a key to going the distance in my Christian walk and future Ministry. So, here I am at St. Dunstan’s – Centre for Spiritual Renewal (1) Learning Spiritual Practices in community alongside you, (2) Hosting the Centre for Spiritual Renewal Podcast (please check it out and subscribe), (3) Organizing a Focus Group to learn how you most connect to God and what other practices interest you and finally, (4) To lead a Spiritual Practices 101 workshop in the Spring, 2021. Thank you for coming alongside me on this great journey. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time so far and look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months. Blessings, Lauren
Please keep Lauren in your prayers! And watch for the upcoming podcasts!
